God bless America.

The first time I ever took Joon’s picture (months before his wedding) I told him “we need to work on your smile.” Not that he had a bad one but it certainly looked forced and uncomfortable at times. You could tell he didn’t practice it in the mirror on the regular.
Joon and Jess are dear friends whose marriage characterized the celebration of service. The central point of their reception was the washing of Jessica’s feet by Joon, a Biblical symbol of humility. They are a considerate couple and often choose to value others over themselves. You could tell that the wedding was more about the attendees than them.
At the end of the day, after we spent the afternoon taking pictures at USD, I had realized that I never told Joon to fix his smile once. I guess having a wedding with some of your best friends and family is one easy way to practice.
Jeff and Christine couldn’t ask for better weather at their Coronado wedding at Breaker’s Beach (San Diego, CA). The sky was cloudless and the temperature was a perfect 75 degrees. They also couldn’t ask for better company in their friends and family (who treated me like one of them from the start). Best of all, I couldn’t ask for a better couple to photograph.
