ricky and jane wedding (8)

Scripps Forum in La Jolla, CA is a dream wedding venue. The large, floor-to-ceiling windows reflect the expansive Pacific Ocean in a way that challenges anyone who is there to ponder if anyone can have a more beautiful backdrop to say “I do”.

Ricky and Jane are adventurous people and long-time friends. They’re ambitious dreamers who have a passion for traveling and the arts and I have no doubt that they will make an incredible couple that will make their mark on anywhere they visit or live.

The day was gorgeous. Small puffs of clouds dotted the sky and you could hear ocean waves crash on the sandy seashore for miles. Part of the way though this shoot I can’t help but thank God that I get to do this for a living.

Jeff & Christine love the La Jolla shores like they love each other. You ask them what they do for fun and they’ll talk about going to the cove or joke about hanging out on the couch. It’s not long before you realize that it doesn’t matter what they do–they simply enjoy each other’s company.

Group shots has to be one of the most challenging shots to get right. In my experience (yours too probably), you could take a zillion frames and some how, some way, there is always at least one person blinking or looking in another direction. There has to be some sort of formula in which complexity is an exponential function of the number of people in the picture.
